S&C and Blank Rome hire in New York, Salesforce buys Braze

Sullivan & Cromwell poached a Kirkland & Ellis tax partner in New York. Blank Rome poached two Hogan Lovells Cadwalader commodities trading and finance partners in New York, along with two senior counsel.

On the deal side, Salesforce signed a definitive agreement to acquire Braze for approximately $5.66 billion in enterprise value. Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Covington & Burling are counsel to Salesforce. Davis Polk & Wardwell is counsel to Braze.

On the business side, Seyfarth Shaw escaped a proposed class action over a data breach affecting more than 56,000 people. The lead plaintiff voluntarily dismissed the suit in Chicago federal court on Tuesday.
