Latham lands a new ITC co-chair, and a Cahill finance trio heads to White & Case

Latham & Watkins poached a Baker Botts intellectual property litigation partner in DC, who joins as co-chair of Latham's International Trade Commission practice. Brown Rudnick launched a national security practice in DC with a six-lawyer team, led by a Brown Rudnick alum returning from Greenberg Traurig. The American Lawyer reports three Cahill Gordon & Reindel leveraged finance partners in New York are moving to White & Case. Ropes & Gray added a tax partner in New York. Cozen O'Connor added a Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates real estate leasing lawyer in New York, who joins as counsel. Clifford Chance poached a Hogan Lovells Cadwalader partner to build out Clifford Chance's private capital sports work. She was previously general counsel of the New York Jets.

On the business side, Debevoise & Plimpton is advising Schneider Electric on its $22.6 billion acquisition of PTC. Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP is advising PTC. Kelley Drye & Warren LLP named a new chair and two co-managing partners, effective January 1, 2027. Bloomberg Law reports Tennessee's Supreme Court kept its ban on non-lawyer ownership of law firms, so private equity cannot buy direct stakes in the state's firms. Bloomberg Law also reports New York City sued Manhattan law firm Asher & Associates in federal court, alleging a decade of injury lawsuits falsely blamed on the city.
