Wachtell makes a rare lateral hire, and Wiley's insurance group spins out as Tyka

Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz hired a Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP litigation and enforcement partner in New York, which Bloomberg Law calls a rare lateral addition to Wachtell's litigation ranks. Cooley LLP poached a Freshfields securities litigation partner in New York, and King & Spalding brought in a Latham & Watkins restructuring partner, who joins them in New York. Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP added two McKool Smith patent trial lawyers as partners in Dallas. Greenberg Traurig, LLP added a Hyman, Phelps & McNamara, P.C. food and drug lawyer as a shareholder in their Health Care & FDA practice in DC. On the boutique side, Wiley Rein LLP's insurance coverage group spun out to launch Tyka in DC, a boutique representing insurers. Tyka says it was founded by 12 partners who built their careers together at Wiley.
