White & Case lands DOJ's former antitrust chief, Crowell takes a Littler shareholder, and Vorys sues Grubhub

White & Case LLP is adding the Justice Department's former antitrust chief as a partner in DC. White & Case says she is set to join next month. Crowell & Moring LLP poached a Littler Mendelson shareholder in Denver to head their eDiscovery and information management practice. Crowell says she brings more than 20 years of experience in civil litigation and eDiscovery. Law.com reports Sills Cummis & Gross P.C. is elevating their deputy managing partner to managing partner, effective October 1. The longtime managing partner moves up to firm chairman. Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP sued Grubhub in Ohio state court over unpaid contingency fees. The firm says it represented Grubhub for seven years in litigation against major credit card companies. The American Lawyer reports law firms are generally paying proportionately more for laterals than profitability metrics would otherwise indicate. Some industry observers say partner compensation has "most definitely" increased as top firms aggressively pursue laterals this year. Bloomberg Law reports some partners at Massumi + Consoli LLP agreed to a one-time cut to their equity distributions. The money goes into the firm's new back-office venture, which sold a stake to Trive Capital.
