A DC firm is winding down, and an AmLaw firm just took the team

White and Williams LLP is opening a Washington, DC office with five partners and one counsel from Jackson & Campbell, P.C., effective October 1, including Jackson & Campbell's president. White and Williams says the office takes them to ten. The Legal Intelligencer reports Jackson & Campbell begins winding down operations the same day, and that their remaining lawyers are going to Lerch, Early & Brewer. Mayer Brown took a White & Case partner into their global leveraged finance and private capital group in New York. Troutman Pepper Locke added a private equity and investment funds partner in Stamford out of Finn Dixon & Herling, where he led their investment management practice. On the government side, Alston & Bird added a former assistant director in the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection as a litigation partner in DC, after two decades at the agency. Holland & Knight brought in a former deputy director for global investment and economic security at the Defense Department as a partner in DC, sitting across their national security and defense industry group and federal government affairs practice.
