Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP poached a Kirkland & Ellis partner for their asset management department in New York. Willkie says the arrival follows two other private funds partner additions in recent months. Mayer Brown took an Alston & Bird partner in DC for their global investigations and white collar defense practice. Mayer Brown says he is a former senior DOJ prosecutor. Morrison & Foerster hired a former Associate Deputy Attorney General as a partner in DC and chair of their False Claims Act practice. Milbank hired the chair of O'Melveny & Myers' tax practice as a partner in New York. K&L Gates took a Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton partner in New York for state and local tax. Sidley Austin added a Squire Patton Boggs partner in Miami, in their energy, transportation and infrastructure practice. Baker Botts brought in a King & Spalding partner in Houston for energy and infrastructure work. Debevoise & Plimpton added an executive compensation partner in New York. Gibson Dunn added a fund finance partner in New York. Fried Frank added an asset management partner in DC.
