A six-partner lift-out, and two DOJ antitrust enforcers land in Big Law

K&L Gates hired a six-lawyer group from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman across San Francisco, Palo Alto and Houston, and all six join as partners. The firm says the group strengthens their corporate, intellectual property, litigation, and labor and employment practices. The American Lawyer reports three of the six were partners at Pillsbury and three were counsel. Winston Taylor announced the return of the Justice Department's former deputy director of litigation for the Antitrust Division, who joins in Chicago and DC as a litigation partner and co-chair of their Antitrust & Competition Practice. He told Bloomberg Law he was saddened the government settled the Ticketmaster monopolization case a week into trial, and that he was confident in their ability to win. Ashurst Perkins Coie added an antitrust partner in DC who was an assistant chief in the Justice Department's Antitrust Division. White & Case hired an executive compensation lawyer from Sullivan & Cromwell who joins as a partner in New York. Proskauer Rose added a fund finance partner in New York. On the boutique side, Geragos & Geragos hired a partner in New York from Walden Haran Williams to lead an expansion down the East Coast.
