A healthcare lift-out in Atlanta and a South Florida hiring burst

Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein picked up a three-lawyer healthcare team from Hall Booth Smith in Atlanta, with particular strength in senior living and long-term care. Two join as partners, and the firm calls it its first dedicated healthcare presence in Georgia. Snell & Wilmer added a private client partner in Phoenix, hired from Jaburg & Wilk, where she was a partner and led the estate planning practice. The Daily Business Review reports a lateral hiring burst in South Florida, with Bilzin Sumberg, Shutts & Bowen, Quarles & Brady, Morgan & Morgan and GrayRobinson all adding laterals in recent weeks.

On the business side, Kirkland & Ellis is representing Eli Lilly in six new lawsuits aimed at shutting down an alleged black market for its experimental weight loss drug, five of them filed in Texas. And Holland & Knight is turning to its former head of litigation to defend it in the $1.2 billion malpractice case brought by a former real estate client. He is now a partner at Podhurst Orseck.
