White & Case taps Mayer Brown's global funds co-head

One of the three co-heads of Mayer Brown's global investment funds practice is moving to White & Case, The American Lawyer reports. He is a funds partner based in New York, and he called the move a chance to keep building White & Case's US funds practice. Mayer Brown is also losing a structured finance partner in New York, to Hogan Lovells Cadwalader. Greenberg Traurig poached a Loeb & Loeb real estate partner in New York who focuses on office and retail leasing, and DLA Piper added two emerging growth and venture capital partners in Boston.

On the deal side, the New York Yankees lined up $2.6 billion in financing from Apollo Sports Capital, with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison advising Apollo, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher representing the Yankees, and Katten Muchin Rosenman handling the regulatory work.
