Greenberg Traurig raids Jones Walker, and Skadden loses the Purdue judge
Greenberg Traurig poached a construction partner from Jones Walker in Atlanta, where he handles energy, infrastructure and data center projects from contract negotiation through arbitration and trial. Debevoise & Plimpton named a new chair of its real estate group in New York, and the partner who led that practice for more than fourteen years becomes the firm's general counsel on October 1. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati named the head of its capital markets practice as the firm's next chair.
On the business side, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom is losing the former bankruptcy judge who oversaw the Purdue Pharma case to the advisory firm M3 Partners, where he will be a senior adviser and head of fiduciary services. On the regulatory side, an anti-DEI group asked the EEOC to investigate an education nonprofit and fourteen of its partner law firms over alleged race-based preferential treatment.
