HSF Kramer poaches Haynes Boone's Supreme Court practice leader, and a thirteen lawyer raid on Proskauer

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer hired the leader of Haynes Boone's Supreme Court practice to co-lead its Supreme Court and appellate litigation group, as the firm pushes to deepen its US bench a year on from the Kramer Levin merger. Barnes & Thornburg added three white collar partners, all former prosecutors, in Dallas and Washington, and Hinshaw & Culbertson took an insurance partner from Sidley Austin in Los Angeles. The New York Law Journal reports King & Spalding has pulled 13 lawyers from Proskauer Rose, a raid powered by fund finance demand.

On the business side, the five firms that represented Maryland in the Key Bridge collapse litigation will split nearly $168 million in contingency fees, and The American Lawyer reports firms are leaning on partners' own capital to fund AI technology, real estate and lateral hires.
