Jones Walker absorbs a Texas corporate boutique, and K&L Gates cuts 10% of its staff

Jones Walker absorbed a Texas corporate boutique, picking up a three-partner M&A and private equity team in Houston from Walker Eisenbraun and naming one of the arrivals head of its Texas offices. BakerHostetler added a debt finance partner in Los Angeles.

On the business side, K&L Gates is cutting about 10% of its staff, roughly 130 to 170 business professionals, after a multi-month review of its structure, and OpenAI hired Quinn Emanuel to defend it against Apple's trade secret claims.

On the deal side, ten Big Law firms guided Uber's roughly $15 billion agreement to buy Delivery Hero, and Eli Lilly tapped Ropes & Gray for its $3.8 billion psychedelics acquisition.
