The written cut: Linklaters raids Paul Weiss, and Sidley pulls a Latham finance partner
As many of you know, I'm originally from Argentina. Here's the run in writing. Sidley Austin poached a structured finance partner from Latham & Watkins in New York. Steptoe added a three-partner litigation and investigations group in Los Angeles, DLA Piper brought in an investment funds partner in Chicago, and Goodwin Procter added an antitrust partner in San Francisco. Linklaters kept building in New York too, raiding Paul, Weiss for a senior two-partner litigation team, including a longtime counsel to FIFA who joins as chair of its global sports and US strategic disputes practices.
On the business side, WilmerHale was hit with a putative class action seeking millions in damages over a May breach of clients' personal information.
