Paul Hastings grabs Cahill's private credit co-head, and Katten plants a flag in Miami

Paul Hastings hired the co-head of Cahill Gordon & Reindel's private credit practice in New York, a lawyer who also spent time as a managing director at KKR, deepening its global finance bench. Katten Muchin Rosenman opened a Miami office and launched it with a capital markets partner from DLA Piper, who steps in as the office's managing partner.

On the deal side, private equity is losing ground in the AI boom: strategic buyers are snapping up AI startups and infrastructure while sponsors sit on roughly $3.8 trillion in unsold assets.
