White & Case keeps buying, and Goodwin loses two partners in one day
White & Case hired the co-leader of Goodwin's secondaries practice as a partner in New York, part of an aggressive US buildout that has brought on more than twenty partners this year. The rest of the lateral run stayed busy: WilmerHale added a corporate partner in San Francisco, McGuireWoods a healthcare partner in Washington, DLA Piper a finance partner in New York, and Seyfarth a labor and employment partner in Dallas. Holland and Knight also pulled a search fund partner out of Goodwin in Boston.
On the deal side, Simpson Thacher is advising the owner of the Vegas Golden Knights on a bid to bring an NBA team to Las Vegas, and the Texas boutique Stone Hilton opened an office in Fort Worth.
