Sidley pulls a finance partner out of Wachtell, and DC antitrust hiring runs hot
The poach of the day was Sidley pulling a global finance partner out of Wachtell in New York. Washington was all about antitrust: Sullivan and Cromwell added an antitrust partner, and Ballard Spahr added one from Nelson Mullins, both on the same day. Orrick brought on a structured finance team across New York, Austin, and Charlotte, and Greenberg Traurig added a litigation shareholder in New York.
On the deal side, LongRange Capital went back to Paul Weiss to lead its roughly $1.5 billion purchase of Pizza Hut from Yum Brands.
