California employment hiring heats up, and Paul Weiss draws a malpractice suit

Labor and employment hiring picked up on the West Coast. Jackson Lewis brought on three wage and hour litigators from Gordon Rees in Los Angeles, and Buchalter added an employment partner in Orange County. Pillsbury also hired a private client and family office partner from Cadwalader in Miami and New York.

On the business side, Paul Weiss is facing a malpractice suit tied to its work for the Tisch family, and the Justice Department's bankruptcy watchdog is pushing for a fee cut for Weil Gotshal in a New York landlord bankruptcy.
